One more day of this crazy flipped schedule. Hooray!!
Today you worked on your character study and extra credit packet; both are due on Friday, April 20th when you take your quiz. Also, you received a "What you need to know..." sheet.
If you have misplaced any of these I am attaching the files below.
Quiz Ch. 1 - 7 of Flush this Friday, April 20.
Thank you for staying quiet in the halls today while 7th & 8th grade were testing.
Hooray, we are finished with Milestone testing. On Monday, we will return to semi-normal; our schedule will be flipped due to 7th grade testing, but all classes will meet every day.
You should have your chapters 1 - 3 crossword puzzle ready to turn in on Monday when you walk into class. We will spend Monday and Tuesday finishing chapters 1 - 7 in preparation for your quiz on Friday, April 20. Instead of answering questions, we will do some class discussion about different events from each chapter. There is an extra credit opportunity if you choose to complete it. See Mrs. Hanse to get the extra credit packet.
Enjoy your weekend and relax.
Towards the end of the 2nd quarter I started sending emails and posting on my blog that each student would need a copy of the book Flush by Carl Hiaasen by Monday, March 26, so we could start reading the book immediately upon returning from spring break. While many students did have a copy of the book, either electronically or hard copy, several students did not have a book today. Beginning tomorrow students without a copy of the book will receive an Eagle Card mark for coming to class unprepared. Barnes and Noble has several copies and there is a used book store on Main street in Powder Springs that probable has copies. Our final unit is based on this book, so your student definitely needs a copy. If purchasing a copy is an issue for your family, please email me, so this can be taken care of. Thank you in advance for your support in this matter.
Today we took what I hope is our final Touchstone of the year. This was a good representation of what some of the questions will be like on the Milestone.
Don't forget - Reading Lab is tomorrow morning at 8:15.
If you need to watch the wetlands video for the chart assignment, the link is posted below.
In class today, you read an article about Florida's Economy. If you took it home to finish, make sure you turn it in tomorrow. Also, don't forget your homework tonight: find out what the number 1 industry is in Georgia. Tomorrow we will see how close you came with your guesses in class.
DON'T FORGET: Bring your copy of Flush by Carl Hiaasen to school on Monday, 3/26.
HW: Finish "Florida Diverse Population" reading and worksheet. Due Monday, 3/26
Don't forget to bring your copy of Flush to school by Monday, March 26.
Today we continued reading the history of Florida and how water became a critical issue for a state surrounded by water. We will finish this tomorrow.
Flush by Carl Hiaasen have your copy at school by Monday, March 26.
I have attached a PDF of the Flashback PPT that we looked at in class today.
If you were out today, you will need to make-up the quarter 4 Touchstone Mini 1.
Reading Lab will be available tomorrow morning.
Don't forget you need to purchase or borrow a copy of Flush by Carl Hiaasen and have it at school by Monday, March 26. If you want to keep in my cabinet, make sure that you put your name on the side of it.
