It is the end of February. I can't believe we are withing 11 weeks of the end of school; it feels as if we just started. Today we started watching the Paper Clips video. This is about a Holocaust project that a group of 8th graders from Whitwell, TN completed to learn about tolerance, diversity and the Golden Rule. We will continue the video tomorrow.
Reminder: Your unit final is scheduled for next Tuesday, 3/6. Study Session that morning at 8:30. Today we finished the interview with Leon Leyson. Don't lose the question paper because that is your study guide for the final exam, and it will be collected the day of the exam for the grade. Remember the final is next Tuesday, March 6. You will receive a study guide by the end of this week. There will be a study session at 8:30 on Tuesday, 3/6.
One more day until winter break. Your Reading Log for Ch. 9 - Epilogue is due tomorrow at the end of class. If you have finished, make sure you have a silent reading book to read during class.

1. If you did not complete the Quizlet assignment that was given over the weekend, you have tonight to complete. If you complete the assignment, you will receive partial credit because it was due today. If you don't complete the Quizlet assignment tonight, you will earn a "0". Link for quizlet is below. 2. Last chance study session tomorrow morning in my room at 8:30. I will let Mrs. Miller know to let you come to my room. No pass should be necessary. 3. wooden_box_reading_log.doc quizlet.com/hed19097/folders/the-boy-on-the-wooden-box-chapters-5-8-vocab/sets We are moving right along with the Holocaust unit. Today, we were in the computer lab for you to type the final draft of your "Tsalig's Humanity" paper. Remember if you did not finish typing in class your paper is due in my email (see contact Mrs. Hanse top right corner) by midnight tonight. If your paper is not there before midnight, it will be considered late.
Don't forget your reading log for chapters 5 - 8 is due on Monday. We will have our next reading and vocab check on Tuesday, 2/13. Today, we visited the book fair. If you put books on hold, don't forget to bring your money, so you can make your purchases. You don't want them to put your holds back on the shelf.
After returning from the book fair, you started working on a paper about Tsalig's humanity during the inhumanity of WWII. This paper should be at least 3 paragraphs and be ready to type during class on Wednesday. You will probably have some time in class to work on your rough draft tomorrow. It will depend upon how long it takes you to complete tomorrow's assignment. Don't forget your reading log is due next Monday, 2/12. Have a good evening. Today, you completed a quick write about a Holocaust jacket that had been hidden away for all of these years. Should the family have kept it or given it away? Was it sad that it was found in an estate sale?
Notice: your next reading log is due on Monday, 2/12. We will have the next quiz on Tuesday, 2/13. You need to at least have read chapters 5 & 6 by Monday. Don't forget we are going to the book fair on Monday.
