I apologize, but I made a big mistake. When I attached your rubric last Friday, I accidentally attached the OL rubric instead of yours. They had the same name, so I have changed the name to make sure this doesn't happen again. The correct rubric is attached.
ultimate_hero_project_rubric.docx Happy Fall Break!!! Don't forget that your hero project is due on Tuesday, October 3. I am attaching a copy of the rubric since I wasn't able to get it printed for you today. This will allow you to look at it, and I will have a hard copy for you when you return on Monday. I am also attaching the compare/contrast sheet in case someone lost theirs or left it at school Have a good break and see you in 9 days.
superhero_project_rubrics.docx compare_and_contrast_hero_and_pjlt.docx It has been Unit 1 Final day. Several students did not finish, so we will be finishing in class tomorrow. Please bring a pleasure book or your Hero book to read when you are finished. Remember the compare/contrast of Hero and PJLT is due on Monday, 10/2. Lost your compare/contrast sheet; it is attached below.
compare_and_contrast_hero_and_pjlt.docx You are two days away from your unit final for PJLT. Because I will have to be out tomorrow, unexpectedly, we had our review for the final today. Remember, I said to study your notes on plot, conflict, and characterization. In class tomorrow, you have a choice of working on the gods/goddesses/dem-gods character sheet or the compare/contrast of Hero and PJLT. The gods sheet is due on Thursday, and the compare/contrast is due on Monday, 10/2. Notes are below if you cant find yours. Have a good evening, and hopefully, I will see you on Thursday.
characterization.pdf conflict.pdf plot.pdf Finally, a full week of school, of course next week is fall break, so this will be a very busy week. You have your Unit 1 final this Thursday, September 21. Since all of my classes are taking a final on Thursday, I will NOT be able to hold a study session before school. However, if you have questions about the book or your final project, I will be available Wednesday, Sept. 20 before school. You will need to get a pass from me to come in.
In class today your warm-up was: •What type of characterization do you find in this quote? How do you know? •‘Looking up, there he was – Mr. Ramsay – advancing towards them, swinging, careless, oblivious, remote. A bit of a hypocrite? she repeated. Oh no – the most sincere of men, the truest (here he was), the best; but, looking down, she thought, he is absorbed in himself, he is tyrannical, he is unjust…’ (p. 52) •Virginia Woolf’s To the Lighthouse (1927) If you were absent, you can answer this at home and we will staple it into your journal. During the work session, students completed two practice RACE responses. The questions were as follows:
chart_for_god_or_goddess_demi-god_character_trait_sheet_for_pjlt.pdf Good Morning,
Yesterday, your warm-up was to list the 5 parts of the plot line in order, and for your exit ticket, you were to read a short passage and determine where it should be placed on the plot line. We also practiced using RACE in 1st period, but 2nd period did not have time. However, 2nd got more time to read on HERO . Monday we will complete a couple of short quick writes to practice use RACE before your final exam on Thursday. So, you need to make sure that you bring your PJLT book to class. Don't forget the god/goddess/demi-god sheet that you were suppose to be completing as you read PJLT is due this week because we are completing the unit with the final on Thursday. We will review for the final on Wednesday in class. However, if you have questions or want to work on your project, I will make myself available Wednesday morning, 9/20. Ask me to write a pass in your agenda, so Mrs. Miller will let you come to m room. I am attaching a pdf of the notes on RACE. Remember, I said to make that your best friend; if you do, your constructed responses will be great. Have a great weekend. elements_of_a_prompt.pdf |
